Link Musehub account to Overtune Web

Learn how to connect Overtune from Musehub to Overtune Web.

Updated over a month ago

This article only applies to you if you have downloaded Overtune desktop from the Musehub application. If you are not a Musehub user, ignore this article.

Why should I link my accounts?

When you download Overtune from Musehub, Musehub is in control of your authentication and user credentials. If you wish to use the web-based version of Overtune in tandem with the desktop version, then this creates some issues as two separate accounts are created. By linking your accounts you can access all your projects and work on them across the web and desktop versions.

Linking instructions

Open Overtune Desktop. Click "Settings" and then "Link with Overtune Web."

A box should pop up prompting you to authenticate using either Google or Apple. Continue with the same authentication method you used for your web account (or the authentication method you wish to use with your web account if you don't have one already).

Go through the authentication steps.

If the linking is successful, a green box will appear in the bottom right corner of the application.

FAQ

Will my subscription transfer?

Yes. If you've subscribed via the Musehub desktop version your subscription will automatically be transferred when you link your account to the web version. This also works the other way; any subscriptions on the web will transfer to the desktop version.

What to do if linking doesn't work?

If you have active subscriptions on both web and desktop you will get an error message telling you that. You need to cancel the subscription on your web account to continue with the merging in order to avoid being charged twice going forward.

What if I have no web account?

If you don't have a web account but want to create one and link it to your desktop account you simply follow the same steps and a linked web account will be created.
